Gasping for Internet: A Photo Essay without the Photos

American Airlines, flight number 971. Delayed, of course. This trip was not meant to be, now was it? Even the little contemporary museum found at the airport was an indication of the terrible situation I was finding myself in, with a giant polar bear head crying over an empty plastic bottle of arctic water; perhaps a statement of how our modern consumerism and technology invades the natural world or some other work of innovative artistic genius. But it was alright, just a few more hours and I would find myself in the beautiful and exotic Costa Rica. Just a few more hours.

When I moved to LA six months ago I was excited to furnish and equip my new heaven. I set out on my shopping sprees, browsing the much-needed goods, but leaving empty-handed and disappointed. All because of that niggling thought in the back of my head… “I can get it cheaper online.”

Don’t feed the Internet

Sometimes I feel we got tricked, duped, with that internet and all. Back in the day, we were promised the information super-highway, connecting people from distant lands in a matter of seconds, and all the grotesque and obscure pornography you could ever yearn for. But the more I read the internet, the more it seems a ruse, a clever mechanism that feeds on us. On our anger.
